Evaluating the November midterm break for students preparing for the university exam, Psychological Counselor Özgür Akoğlan expressed that "Planning should be done by preparing a weekly study program specific to the midterm holiday only. We have to practice by solving at least 200 questions a day." Suggesting that solving practice tests at least 3 times during the midterm break, Akoğlan said that "It is not right to spend the whole day studying. Students should also include activities where they can relax and feel comfortable during this period."

Üsküdar University Educational Institutions and Guidance Services Manager and Specialist Psychological Counselor Özgür Akoğlan evaluated the midterm holiday that will start on Monday, November 11 and end on Friday, November 15 for students preparing for the university exam.

A weekly study program should be prepared for the mid-term holiday!

Guidance Services Manager Özgür Akoğlan wished all students to have a productive mid-term holiday where they spent quality time with their families, and stated that "The first mid-term break should be considered as an opportunity to make efficient use of every moment as well as a time to rest. This period is very valuable, especially for students preparing for the university exam. Before entering the mid-term break, we should review the work we have done since the beginning of the semester and determine the areas where one lacks, and in this regard, we should prepare a special weekly study program only for the mid-term holiday with the support of school counselors. Thus, we will have the opportunity to repeat the topics we have learned before and to complete the places we do not understand."

To complete the deficiencies, the opportunity of a mid-term holiday should be evaluated...

Stating that students should consider this break as an opportunity to close the midterm break if they have areas where they lack in TYT subjects in line with their university goals, Guidance Services Manager Özgür Akoğlan said that "Right after the subjects we study, we should practice by solving at least 200 questions per day. We should learn the questions that we cannot do from our course teachers or from sources with solutions. If we do not attend the course, we can benefit from the digital auxiliary resources of the Ministry of National Education for subject repetitions and question solutions."

Take at least 3 practice tests during the midterm break!

Recommending to take practices tests at least 3 times during the mid-term holiday period, Specialist Psychologist Counselor Özgür Akoğlan stated that "Since universities will be open during this period, we can experience the real exam atmosphere by using the halls of the nearest universities. Our aim is to see how we can transfer the topics we have learned to the questions and to increase our problem solving speed. Because it is important to prepare for the exams both theoretically and in terms of time management."

Sleep patterns should not be disturbed

Noting that care should be taken to keep sleep regular and not to disturb the habit of sleeping at night during the November midterm break, Özgür Akoğlan made the following remarks:

"A good quality sleep is very beneficial for wellness. At the same time, physical activity is necessary to stay fit. In the afternoons, it will be very useful to take a walk for at least half an hour, go outdoors or do some activities such as sports. Whether it is to chat or play games, we recommend that you be careful not to spend a long time in front of the computer. Keep in mind that sitting in front of a screen for a long time can lead to physical and mental fatigue, spine and joint problems."

Studying all day is not right!

Pointing out that students should rest, relax and acquire occupations that make it easier for them to focus during the midterm break, Guidance Services Manager Specialist Psychologist Counselor Özgür Akoğlan stated that "Thus, when school starts again, they will not have difficulty in studying. In addition, thanks to attention-enhancing activities, students at all levels will have less difficulty focusing and studying their lessons. However, it is also not right to spend the whole day studying. Students should also include activities where they can relax and feel comfortable during this period."
