'WFNS Educational Course', one of the leading events in the field of brain, nerve and spine surgery all over the world, is being held in Istanbul this year!
The 'WFNS Educational Course', co-hosted by the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) Education and Training Committee, WFNS Young Neurosurgeons Forum Committee and NPİSTANBUL Hospital, started at Üsküdar University NP Health Campus İbni Sina Auditorium between September 27-29, 2024.
Speaking at the opening of the event, President of Üsküdar University and Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan expressed that “We were the first to bring personalized treatment to Türkiye."
Noting that they are the third hospital in the world to receive JCI accreditation in their field, Tarhan said that "We have established the latest innovative treatments, neuromodulation deep TMU and pharmacogenetics laboratory as a diagnostic tool. This year, many valuable specialists working under the umbrella of 'Brain, Nerve and Spine Surgery' are here."
Üsküdar University NP Health Campus is hosting the 'WFNS Educational Course', one of the most important events in the field of brain, nerve and spine surgery in the world, on September 27-29, 2024.
The event, organized in cooperation with the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) Education and Training Committee, WFNS Young Neurosurgeons Forum Committee and NPİSTANBUL Hospital, is held at Üsküdar University NP Health Campus İbni Sina Auditorium.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the course, President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan stated that the event will offer new perspectives to young specialists in brain, nerve and spine surgery and emphasized that as NPİSTANBUL Hospital, they have pioneered many scientific studies in this field.

Prof. Tarhan stated that Üsküdar University is a thematic foundation university that synthesizes the fields of health engineering and neuroscience and said that they continue their educational activities with more than 24 thousand students. Stating that the Faculty of Medicine of the university will give its first graduates this year, Prof. Tarhan said that NPİSTANBUL Hospital also draws attention with its diagnosis and treatment methods in brain health and diseases. Emphasizing the importance of personalized approaches especially in the treatment of diseases such as depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, Alzheimer's, autism spectrum disorder and addiction, Prof. Tarhan stated that psychiatric diseases are brain diseases, and these treatment processes require evidence-based approaches.

The first day of this three-day event focuses on craniocerebral surgery, and the second day focuses on spine surgery. Within the scope of the event, WFNS Educational Course Organizing Committee Member and NPİSTANBUL Hospital Nerve and Spinal Cord Surgery Specialist Prof. Onur Yaman gave a training titled "Management of Subaxial Cervical Trauma" to the participants.
On Sunday, September 29, 'Microvascular dissection course' and 'Spine dissection course (Upsurgeon)' will be held, and with the trainings to be held at NPİSTANBUL Hospital, using the latest technological methods, surgical techniques are transferred to the İbni Sina Auditorium where the participants are present, and the narration is planned through the case.
