Üsküdar University researchers continue to contribute to international scientific studies. Üsküdar researchers, who previously contributed to the book titled "Stress Related Disorders", are now making an important contribution to the book "Schizophrenia - Recent Advances and Patient-Centered Treatment Perspectives". In the study, which was brought to the literature from IntechOpen Publications, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan and his fellow researchers examine schizophrenia from various angles by considering schizophrenia from a neurobiological perspective.

Upon the invitation of IntechOpen Publishing House, President of Üsküdar University Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan and his fellow research team contributed to the 7-chapter book titled "Schizophrenia - Recent Advances and Patient-Centered Treatment Perspectives" with the chapter titled "Neurobiological Perspective and Personalized Treatment in Schizophrenia".

The book, "Schizophrenia - Recent Advances and Patient-Centered Treatment Perspectives," indexed in the Web of Science Book Citation Index, aims to understand schizophrenia by its symptoms.

The journey of understanding schizophrenia through its symptoms...

Edited by Dr. Jane Yip (Newcastle University) with pioneering work in the field of Depression, Autism and Schizophrenia, the book brings together her latest exciting findings for a new generation of researchers, clinicians and professionals. The chapter of the 7-chapter book covers diagnosis, epidemiology, mechanisms of action, brain imaging, psychopharmacology, psycho-behavioral intervention, social inclusion, community care, social action, diversity and inclusion, new therapeutics in the journey of understanding schizophrenia through its symptoms.

Important contribution from Üsküdar academicians to the literature...

Those who contributes to the book chapter are as follows: Prof. Nevzat Tarhan with the study titled "Personalized Medicine of Schizophrenia", Prof. Nesrin Dilbaz with the study titled "Comorbide Schizophrenia in Addiction", Prof. Güner Ulak with the study titled "Psycopharmacology of Schizophrenia", Dr. Yeşim Özdemir with the study titled "The Genetics and Epigenetics of Schizophrenia", Dr. Firdevs Seyfe Şen and Yelda İbadi with the study titled "Multimodal Neuroimaging in Schizophrenia", Assoc. Prof. Türker Ergüzel with the study titled "In Silico Applications in Schizophrenia; Future Perspectives".

It offers personalized treatment in the diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia...

The study, which examines schizophrenia from various angles by considering personalized treatment approaches from a neurobiological perspective, offers personalized treatment in the diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia, and in addition to the use of drugs, the psychopharmacology and the mechanism of action of antipsychotics are also discussed. In addition to detailed genetic and epigenetic studies, the book meets with readers in silico applications and computational approaches covering the destructive effect of current computational methods, deep learning methods, schizophrenia, specific biomarker extraction processes and metaverse.

Tarhan and his fellow researchers had previously contributed to the 11-chapter book titled "Stress Related Disorders" with the chapter titled "New Diagnosis and Treatment Approaches to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder".

The work was downloaded by nearly 1000 people within 2 months.
