Short CV

He was born in Kırıkkale in 1969. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Kars, Edirne, Cyprus and Adana. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture in 1991, which he entered in 1987.While he was doing his master's degree at  Ankara University Institute  of Natural and Applied Sciences, he  took the exams opened by TRT in 1992 and passed. He started to work as a camera assistant at TRT İstanbul Television. He became a cameraman in 1995. In the same year, he became a member of the Turkish Journalists Association. Between 1995 and 2002, he was the cinematographer and director of many TV series and documentaries. In 2012, the documentary "Museum of Innocence - Orhan Pamuk", of which he was the cinematographer, received the Turkish Journalists Association Sedat Simavi Award in the Best Documentary category. In 2016, the documentary "Sofra Sofra İstanbul", which he produced and cinematographed, received 14 awards at festivals around the world. In 2021, he produced, co-directed and directed the film "If Corona did not intervened..." His documentary has received 17 awards at festivals held in Türkiye and around the world.
Zafer Sevener is currently working as a director and cinematographer in the television, documentary, cinema and advertising sectors. He has a Permanent Press Card and has been a member of the Turkish Journalists Association for 27 years.
