After graduating from Istanbul Technical University's Department of Metallurgical
Engineering in 1989, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serkan Yılmaz completed his Master's degree in Management Engineering at the Hochschule Bochum in Germany in 1992. He worked in middle and senior management positions in international companies for many years.
When he decided to pursue his career as an academician, he started the Business
Administration PhD program at Beykent University in 2010 and completed his education at the end of 2012 by writing his doctoral thesis on " The Relationships Among the Emotional and Organizational Core Capabilities, and Their Impact on Firm Performance ".
He worked as part-time Lecturer at Marmara University, Department of Business Administration in German and Yeditepe University, Department of International Business Administration in German. He published many books and articles.
Serkan Yılmaz began his career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Management at Üsküdar University, Faculty of Health Sciences, on September 15, 2014. He continued his career as an Associate Professor as of November 13, 2023, and was appointed Department Head of the Department of Management Information Systems at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences on August 1, 2025. He speaks advanced German and English. He is married with one daughter.
