Dr. Lecturer. Member Salih TUNCAY was born in 1984 in Erzurum. After completing his primary, secondary and high school education in Aydın, he completed his undergraduate education in 2010 at Atatürk University, Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry, and simultaneously completed his second degree at the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering. In 2013, he completed his master's degree in the Department of Organic Chemistry, Atatürk University, on the total synthesis of active natural compounds, which could be medicines, within the scope of a research project supported by TÜBİTAK. In 2013-2014, he was awarded the Ph.D. degree in materials science engineering at Koç University. During these years, he received English preparatory education and was awarded the Tübitak 2211-A General Domestic Doctorate Scholarship. During his doctoral studies, he completed his studies on synthesis of triterpenes with inhibitor effective nuclear factor Kappa-B and synthesis of molecules modeled by computer-aided docking studies at Bezmialem Vakif University, Also he completed Ph.D. from Yildiz Technical University, Department of Organic Chemistry.
He has been the head of Food Technology Program at Üsküdar University since 2015. Dear Tuncay serves as a faculty member in administrative duties such as the laboratory coordinator of SHMYO, board member of SHMYO.
He specializes in total synthesis of organic molecules, extensibility of essential oils, plant isolation, natural product chemistry. Tuncay is interested in computer aided molecular modeling and molecular docking areas.
