Pelin YÜKSEL MAYDA, MD

Pelin Yüksel Mayda was born in Şanlıurfa in 1973. She graduated from İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biological Sciences in 1995. She completed her master's degree in the Department of Medical Microbiology at the same University in 1999 and her doctorate in the Department of Medical Microbiology at Trakya University Faculty of Medicine in 2005. In 2013, she worked as an observer in the neurovirology laboratory of John Hopkins University in the USA. In 2015, she received the title of associate professor at İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Microbiology. In 2018, she was appointed as an associate professor as the head of the Department of Microbiology of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Bezmialem Vakıf University. In 2021, she started Kocaeli Health and Technology University as a Professor and served as the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. After serving as the founding Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the same University in 2022, she was appointed as the Vice Rector. During her tenure at Kocaeli Health and Technology University, she also served as the chairperson of the Ethics Committee and the Scientific Research Unit. She taught Microbiology in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Health Sciences Faculties, Vocational High Schools, Master's and Doctorate programs at the universities she has worked in so far. She has 53 articles in international indexes, 15 national articles, 58 presentations in international congresses and 33 presentations in national congresses.
