Ömer Osmanoğlu was born in 1974. He completed bachelor’s degree at Gazi University İ.İ.B.F. Public Administration Department at 1996. He get a master’s degree from Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences, Philosophy and Religious Studies, Department of Islamic Philosophy, at 1999, with a thesis “A Comparison of non-virtual goverment types in Plato's and Farabi's political philosophy”. He completed his doctorate at Marmara University, Institute of Social Sciences, Philosophy and Religious Studies, Department of History of Philosophy with his doctoral thesis “Justice in Medieval Political Philosophy”.
Osmanoğlu worked in management positions in private sector institutions, NGOs and as a manager and editorial director in publishing and served as editorial consultant, editorial director and project coordinatior. He edited more than 40 books and he is the author of two documentaries about city and history of civilization. He published two books “İstanbul in the Yeşilçam Cinema” and “100 Cinemas of Istanbul”. Osmanoğlu speaks English and Arabic, and he is a faculty member in Üsküdar University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Philosophy.
He published articles about philosophy, art, culture, civilization, and he is writing on cinema and music in national magazines. Hise research interests include; Ancient and Medieval Philosophy, Political Philosophy, Political History, Ethics, History of Civilization and culture are the city.
