Niyazi Beki is a professor at the Institute for Sufi Studies in Üsküdar University since 2015. Before that he was Associate Professor for Sufi studies in the same university and he worked as an Assistant Professor in Tafsir and Arabic language in Faculty of Theology of Sakarya University. He received his PhD in Tafsir in the faculty of Basic Islamic Studies in Sakarya University in 1997 on “The Model of Isharāt al-I’cāz for the Commentary in 20th Century Turkey”. He earned his master’s degree in Hadith at Marmara University in 1990 with thesis titled “es-Sülemî ve Kitâbu'l-Erbaîn li's-Sûfiyye”. He graduated from Erciyes University Faculty of Theology of in 1984. Furthermore, he studied Arabic language, and traditional Islamic Studies and he also taught Arabic language in Sakarya University Faculty of Theology. He was the chairman of Arabic Language and Rhetoric Department between 1998-2003. During his academic studies, he worked as a preacher in the Presidency of Religious Affairs. He also worked as a visiting lecturer at Hartfort Saminary (Department of Theology) in USA between 2003-2004. Since 2005 he has been working as a supervisor in website of “www.sorularlaislamiyet.com”.
