Güler CİMETE, Ph.D
Professor in Nursing Science
Prof Güler Cimete graduated from Hacettepe University School of Nursing in 1984. She completed her master's program at Child Health and Disease Nursing Department in 1987, doctoral program in 1991 at the same university. She took Assistant Professor degree in 1993, Associated Professor degree in 1996, and Professor degree in 2003 at Marmara University, School of Nursing.
She worked as Research Asistant at Hacettepe University (1984-1991), as a teacher assisstant at Akdeniz University (1991-1993), as Assistant Professor, Associated Professor and Professor at Marmara University School of Nursing (1994-2011), as Professor at Cyprus International University (2014). She worked as assistant manager at Marmara University School of Midwifery (1994-96), as manager, as head of the department at the Nursing School of the same university (2010-2011), and also she worked as manager at Maltepe University School of Nursing (2011-2013). Currently, she is working at Midwifery Department of the Health Sciences Faculty at Uskudar University (2016…….)
She has given 18 different lectures (at Master’s and doctoral programs in Child Health and Disease Nursing and Newborn Nursing).
She is the writer of the book named “End of Life Care”. She has approximately sixty articles and nine of them were published in some scientific journals which were included in Social Science Citation Index.
Academic interests and fields of study; nursing care of children with acute, chronic and/or fatal diseases and their families, intensive care of infants and children, home care, terminal care, palliative care, end of life care, death and loss concepts, nursing diagnosis and classification systems, nursing concepts and theories, neonatal care, health assessment, holistic nursing.
She has been interested in home care systems and services which are applicable in our country. For this purpose, she organised two home care congresses and took on leadership for the formation of Home Care Association and became the first presedent of it. Furthermore, she has given a lot of conferences and lectures about home care since 1998.
