Dr. Gokhan Apaydin was born in Ankara, Turkey, in 1978. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bogazici University (formerly Robert College, the first American College outside the United States in 1863), Istanbul, Turkey in 2001, 2003, and 2007, respectively. He was with Bogazici University from 2001 to 2005; the University of Technology Zurich from 2005 to 2010; and he was a Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of ECE, University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, IL, USA, in 2015.
He has been involved with complex electromagnetic problems and systems. His research interests include analytical and numerical methods (finite element method, method of moments, finite difference time domain, and split-step parabolic equation) in electromagnetics (especially on electromagnetic computation of wave propagation, diffraction modeling, scattering, and related areas). He has authored 2 books, more than 40 SCI journal articles, and presented more than 25 conference papers. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
His new book entitled “Radio Wave Propagation and Parabolic Equation Modeling” with Prof. Dr. Levent Sevgi was published by internationally well-known publisher IEEE PRESS – JOHN WILEY in 2017.
