She was born in İstanbul in 1981. She was graduated from TED Ankara College Private High School in 1999 and Gazi University School of Medicine in 2005. She completed her specialty education at Psychiatry Department of Gazi University School of Medicine between the years of 2006-2010. She started public service obligation at Ankara Elmadag State Hospital as a psychiatry specialist. Meanwhile, she started her PhD study in Neuroscience Doctorate Program of Gazi University Neuropsychiatry Center. She resigned from Elmadag State Hospital at the end of the year 2014 due to personal reasons.
In 2007, she started doing animal experiments basing on the Certificate of Experimental Animal Practice and Ethics Course which she received from Gazi University Laboratory Animals and Experimental Research Center. She enrolled in Scientific Research Projects and studies on modelling of psychiatric diseases in rodents that investigate behavioral and immunohistochemical changes induced by psychopharmacological agents or behavioral interventions. She completed her neuroscience PhD thesis named “Behavioral Effects of Gabapentin on Sleep Deprivation Induced Schizophrenia-Like State in Rats” in 2017.
She has several articles, almost all of which were published in SCI/SCI-E indexed national or international journals and also book chapters in national or international books. She spoke in many congresses, conferences and symposiums. Many of her posters were exhibited in both national and international congresses and also two of her posters was nationally/internationally awarded. She participated in two research supported by TÜBİTAK 3001 Starting R&D Projects Support Programme as a researcher between 2015-2017. Her interests are schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, sleep disorders, addictive disorders, psychopharmacology, animal models of psychiatric disorders and neurophilosophy.
She is a member of Turkish Medical Association and Psychiatric Association of Turkey. She undertakes mission at Neuroscience Study Group and Somatic Treatment Study Group of Psychiatric Association of Turkey. She is a member of Publication Board of Klinik Psikiyatri Dergisi since 2010 and The Journal of Neurobehavioral Sciences since 2015. She is married and a fluent English speaker.
