Esennur Sirer was born in Bursa in 1969. In 1990, she graduated from İstanbul University Radio and Television Undergraduate Program. In 2010, she received her master's degree from İstanbul University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema with her thesis titled "The Developing and Changing Formal Structure of Television Journalism". In 2018, she graduated with the title of doctorate from İstanbul University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema with her thesis titled "Football as a Popular Culture Product: Image Arrangement in terms of Production Elements in Live Broadcasting". In 2021, she received the title of Associate Professor. Between 1992 and 2018, she worked as a director at the İstanbul Directorate of TRT News and Sports Broadcasting Department. She has worked in various productions in Türkiye and abroad. In addition to her duty as a director, she has been continuing her academic studies since 2007 as the Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at Üsküdar University since October 2018.
