Abdulhakim Beki was born in Bingöl in 1968. Beki graduated from the Divinity Faculty of Erciyes University in 1991 and received his master's degree from the Institute of Social Sciences in Erciyes University in 1994. He started his PhD in 2005 at Sakarya University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Sociology and gratuated with a dissertation titled ‘Social municipality practises in Turkey’ in 2009.
