Academics from Üsküdar Participated in the 1st Children's Council

Üsküdar University Head of the Department of Child Development Prof. Nurper Ülküer and Faculty of Communication Head of the Department of Journalism Assoc. Prof. Gül Esra Atalay participated in the "1st Annual Children's Council" organized by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, General Directorate of Child Services between April 26-28, 2023 with the theme of "Children's Century".

The opening program of the 1st Children's Council held at the Presidential Complex Exhibition Hall started with the participation of the Minister of Family and Social Services Derya Yanık.

Üsküdar University Head of the Department of Child Development and President of the Association of Child Development and Educators Prof. Nurper Ülküer participated in the Multidimensional Child Development and Social Relations Commission, while Faculty of Communication Head of the Department of Journalism Assoc. Prof. Gül Esra Atala took part in the Child and Technology Commission.

It is aimed to reveal all aspects of the needs, problems and solutions for children within the scope of the 1st Children's Council program, and 6 Specialized Commissions were also established.

Representatives of public institutions and organizations, academicians, NGOs working in the field of children and experts in the field of children contributed to the commissions.

6 Specialized Commissions are as follows:
Multidimensional Child Development and Social Relations
Child Protection
Children and Education
Children in Disasters, Crises and Emergencies
Children and Technology
Children's Culture, Art and Play.

6 different Specialized Commissions working in the field continued their work intensively on the second day of the Council, and commissions completed their evaluations including the opinions of experts.
