ILAD accreditation certificate was given to Üsküdar Communication with a ceremony
The accreditation certificates of Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication, Radio, Television and Cinema and Public Relations and Publicity departments, which were accredited by the Communication Research Association (ILAD) for 5 years, were presented to the department heads at a ceremony.
The ceremony held at the Senate Hall of Üsküdar University Main Campus was attended by ILAD President Prof. Aysel Aziz, İLEDAK President Prof. Recep Tayfun, ILAD Secretary General Füsun Özbilgen, President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör, Üsküdar University Advisor to the Rector Prof. Süleyman İrvan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Communication Assoc. Prof. Bahar Muratoğlu Pehlivan, Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Assoc. Prof. Esennur Sirer, Head of the Department of Public Relations and Publicity Assoc. Prof. Özge Uğurlu and faculty members and research assistants of the departments that received accreditation.
Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: "We care about quality and accreditation processes..."
Speaking at the ceremony, President of Üsküdar University Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan mentioned that Üsküdar University attaches special importance to quality and accreditation processes. Prof. Tarhan stated that "An important marathon is over. In this process, I would like to learn about the experiences and observations that our teachers will convey to us."
Prof. Nazife Güngör: "Our teachers worked with a very good team"
Making the opening speech of the certificate ceremony, Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör emphasized that as the Faculty of Communication, quality-oriented studies are carried out in the accreditation process. Güngör stated that "I hope that in the next years we will see our other departments being accredited. All of our coaches worked with a very good team."
Prof. Aysel Aziz: "Five years of accreditation have been received in both of your departments, which is an important achievement"
ILAD Prof. Aysel Aziz underlined that the importance given to ILAD accreditation is very important and that this success has improved them in the process. Aziz stated that "You have supported and cared for the accreditation process that we started in 2018 from the beginning, which has been really motivating for us. Although we are equal, we have also developed as ILAD in these past six years. There have also been improvements in the faculties and programs that we have given accreditation to and that have applied to us. Five-year accreditation has been obtained in both of your departments. This is an extremely important achievement. Because in the intervening time, our aspects that are open to development that we have done before have been completed. This is the happiest time I've ever given today. Hopefully, this success will continue."
Prof. Recep Tayfun: "I have witnessed here that it is carried out with devotion..."
İLEDAK President Prof. Recep Tayfun underlined that Üsküdar University carried out a very successful teamwork within the accreditation process and that this success was achieved through volunteering. Tayfun stated that "I also witnessed how the processes were carried out with devotion here. Whatever was requested both academically and administratively was fulfilled in a very reasonable, very practical, satisfactory way. It was also an extremely important experience for me. These processes are a very important concept for requesting accreditation to the programs at the university, as well as for friends who carry out these processes as evaluators. It is a very valuable concept. It requires voluntary cooperation, and we have experienced this cooperation here a lot. I say this as a response to the experience we have had in many universities regarding the process. Üsküdar University really has a great potential to fulfill the demands we cooperate with and to apply them to the field."
ILAD Secretary General Füsun Özbilgen: "The journey of quality is a never-ending journey"
ILAD Secretary General Füsun Özbilgen stated that the accreditation journey is a very good process and will continue to develop. Özbilge stated that "We are at a stage of the quality journey here. It started with the support of the dean's office of communications. By passing through this quality journey step by step, ILAD received this authorization in 2018. It's been such a beautiful journey. In this process, we have seen that the faculties are rapidly reviewing themselves. Faculties and programs do this work because they want to improve themselves. We have also improved ourselves. We continue to improve. The journey of quality is a never-ending journey."
Certificates were awarded to the heads of departments
At the certificate ceremony, ILAD President Prof. Aysel Aziz presented the accreditation certificate to Assoc. Prof. Esennur Sirer, Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, and Assoc. Prof. Özge Uğurlu, Head of the Department of Public Relations and Publicity.
The certificate program ended with a group photo shoot.
