Ümit Ertem was born in Manisa in1969, graduaded Manisa İsmet İnönü Girls Vocational High School, Ege University She graduated from Ege University School of Nursing.in 1990. She has a pedagogical formation document.

While working in Akdeniz University of the Department of Public Health Nursing as Vice President and Director were in administrative positions. After she worked as a Founding Director in Bakırköy Municipality Directorate of Health Geriatric Centre, she has established Training and Quality Coordinator units and assumed the leadership of these units in Turkish Kidney Foundation Istanbul Memorial Hospital.
