Prof. Dr. Ertan Oktay graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Economics and Statistics in 1970. He completed his graduate studies at Ankara University, Department of Economics in 1981. Between 1982 and 1992, he worked at Gazi University, Department of Economic Theory (I.İ.B.F) as a Dr. Lecturer, Associate Professor and Professor respectively. Prof., Associate Professor and Professor at Gazi University, Department of Economic Theory (I.I.B.F) between 1982 and 1992. Between 1992-1998, he served as the Founding Dean of Gazi University, Faculty of Communication. Then, between 1998-2026, he was the Founding Dean of Maltepe University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. He was the Founding Director of the Institute of Social Sciences at the same university between 1998-2007.
