He was born in Kastamonu in 1959. He studied primary school, junior high school and high school in Istanbul. He completed his undergraduate education at Marmara University's Press and Broadcasting School, Radio-TV Department, and master education at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Cinema TV Department. He worked in advertising, book-magazine publishing, film-cartoon production and director. Since 1990, when the first private broadcasts started, he has served in the fields of radio and tv broadcasting, and has worked as a manager at YurtNet and RadyoNet, which includes 50 local televisions and 160 local radios. He also served as General Coordinator at Power Group for 10 years. He served as Member of the Board of Directors and General Secretary at TVYD-Television Broadcasters Association. He served as a member of the Honest Advertising Evaluation Board of ITO-Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. He is Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of the Cultural Services of TIM-Turkey Exporters Assembly. He is a member of the Turkish Researchers' Association-TÜAD. He is a member of the Board of the Communication Research Association-Turkey. He has given lectures on Radio and Television Management and Management to undergraduate and graduate students at Galatasaray, Marmara, Yeditepe, Beykent and Arel Universities. Dursun Güleryüz is a Board Member and Founding President of the RATEM-Radio Television Broadcasters Professional Association. Dursun Güleryüz, who is married and has 2 children, is General Manager of TİAK-Television Monitoring Research inc which established as Joint Industry Committee for the purpose of carrying out Turkey television audience measurement.
