He was born in Kastamonu in 1959. He studied primary school, junior high school and high school in Istanbul.
He graduated from the Radio-TV Department of the Marmara University's School of Press and Broadcasting and completed his master's degree at the Cinema - Television Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts.
He has worked in advertising, book-magazine publishing, film and cartoons production and directing. Since 1990, when the first private broadcasts started, he has served in radio and TV publishing areas, has worked as a manager in YurtNet and RadyoNet (over 50 local television and 160 local radio stations) and worked as General Coordinator in Power Group for 10 years.
He was member of the Board of Directors and General Secretary of TVYD (Television Publishers Association).
He was a member of the ITO (Istanbul Chamber of Commerce) Ethic Advertising Evaluation Board.
He is TIM’s (Turkey Exporters Assembly) Cultural Services Vice President of the Executive Board.
He is a member of TUAD (Turkish Researchers' Association).
He is a member of the Board of Directors of İLAD (The Communication Research Association)
He lectures about Radio-Television Business Administration and Management at Galatasaray, Marmara, Yeditepe, Beykent and Arel Universities to undergraduate and post graduate students.
Dursun Güleryüz is a Board Member and Founding President of RATEM (Radio Television Broadcasting Society.
He is the General Manager of TIAK Television Audience Measurement JIC which was established as a Joint Industry Committee for Television Audience Measurement.
Dursun Güleryüz is married and has 2 children.
