Prof. Ahmet Yavuz Balcı was born in Samsun in 1969 and graduated from Perşembe Otelcilik ve Turizm High School in 1986. He graduated from Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine in 1993. In 2002, he received his Cardiovascular Surgery Specialization at Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery. Between 2002 and 2003, he worked as a Cardiovascular Surgery Specialist at Adana Seyhan Private Hospital and Adana Başkent University Hospital. In August 2003, he started to work as a Cardiovascular Surgery Specialist at Dr. Siyami Ersek Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital. Between 2004 and 2005, he completed his military service at Diyarbakır Military Hospital. In 2007, he worked as a fellow for 2 months at the Vascular Surgery Clinic of Henri Mondor University in Paris with the aim of learning Cardiovascular treatments. He received the title of Associate Professor in November 2019 and the title of Professor in December 2024.
