Bio-Design Club and Üsküdar University students, paralympic national athletes and their trainer Dr. They met with Duran ARSLAN.Within the scope of Üsküdar University Orthotics and Prosthesis Department spring term activities, the "Conversation with Paralympic National Athletes" event was held on Monday, 16.05.2022.Our event was held at Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus Emir Nebi 1 Conference Hall.Our event guests; The trainer of our national athletes, Dr. DURAN ARSLAN, our paralympic national athletes; EMINE AVCU, A. SERDAR. DEMİR, DİLAN ONGULU, CENK KEÇEOĞLU, SELİN ZÜLAL ÖNAL, BAHA MANDALI, SELİM TAŞ, BETÜL MALKOÇ, UMUT ÜNLÜ and the moderator, Hürriyet Newspaper Digital Content Producer FERİT OMEROĞLU.Our seminar took place in one session:Under the guidance of our moderator Ferit ÖMEROĞLU, first of all, Dr. Duran ARSLAN talked about his academic achievements, his coaching journey, his work and achievements. At the same time, he informed our participants by addressing the issues he deems lacking in the Paralympic field. Afterwards, our athletes, who made us proud by winning numerous medals in both national and international competitions, shared their life stories, difficulties and Dr. They informed our participants by talking about how they met with Duran ARSLAN, what he experienced during his training, and the issues that our society should be aware of.Emine AVCU, one of our athletes who participated in our event and impressed us with her achievements, informed our participants about her life story and achievements, during her speech; “We are not disabled people, we are disabled people.” He emphasized the problems, obstacles and prejudices faced by not only our paralympic national athletes but also all disabled individuals in their daily lives.While our athletes made us proud with their successes and life stories, they raised awareness of our participants by giving examples of the problems they experienced in daily life, by talking about issues that are overlooked by our society but are actually important for disabled individuals.A highly interactive presentation was made in the form of questions and answers.

Üsküdar University Orthotics and Prosthesis Department Students came together with Gürkan GÜLANBER!Üsküdar University Department of Orthotics and Prosthesis and Bio-Design Club held the "Prosthesis and Orthotics Applications in Animals" seminar on Monday, 11.04.2022 at 14:00.The event was held at Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus YUSA Conference Hall.In one session of the seminar:Dear Veterinarian Gürkan Gülanber informed the students about 'Orthotics and Prosthesis Applications in Animals' and a highly interactive presentation was made accompanied by mutual questions and answers.

Within the scope of Üsküdar University Orthotics and Prosthesis Department activities, Uzm. Fzt. Ezgi Tarhan Altınok, on 01.04.2022.  She gave an online seminar on "Microprocessor Controlled Prosthesis and Rehabilitation" moderated by Mert İlhan.

Üsküdar University Orthotics and Prosthesis Department students, as the Bio-Design Club, held a "Gait Analysis Event" at Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus on 25.03.2022.In the event that continues throughout the day; Walking foot analysis was performed on Üsküdar University students and university academics.The pathologies, foot health and gait dynamics observed during walking of the students whose gait analysis was performed were examined by the students of the Orthotics and Prosthesis Department and recommendations were given where deemed necessary. In addition to these, information was shared about how the students and teachers of our university who participated in our event should walk, and the use of the right shoes and insoles regarding foot health, and orthotics counseling was provided.

Üsküdar University Department of Orthotics and Prosthesis and Bio-Design Club held a "Current Liner Approaches" seminar on 12.01.2022 at Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus Beylerbeyi Conference Hall.As a guest of our event; Mustafa Avcı, İshak Sahban and Helin Kelekçibaşı from Össür Company attended.Our seminar consisted of two sessions:In our first session; Mr. Mustafa Avcı made a presentation on "Current Liner Approaches". In the presentation; prosthetic components, liner properties and liner selections that address special situations were discussed. A highly interactive presentation was made accompanied by mutual questions and answers.In our second session; Mr. İshak Sahban and Helin Kelekçibaşı talked about the features of the components with the liners they brought for the presentation.Experiments were carried out on how to put on and take off the liners, which were brought by choosing students among our participants. An interactive seminar was held with mutual question-answer.

Üsküdar University Department of Orthotics and Prosthesis. Instructor Member Ayşe Nedret OKAN gave a seminar on "Problematic Stumps and Preprosthetic Evaluation" at Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus Beylerbeyi Conference Hall on 05.01.2022.
