A department seminar was held on 16 June 2022 as the Perfusion Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences. The event was held via Zoom between 19:00-20:00.Science Specialist Perfusionist Nihal Kolbaş from Marmara University Pendik Training and Research Hospital gave enlightening information about “Minimal Extracorporeal Circulatory Systems” to the students.Mentioning that it is more advantageous to use Minimal extracorporeal circulation systems (MECC) instead of conventional extracorporeal circulation (CECC), Kolbaş said that MECC causes fewer complications, shorter ACT time, less blood and blood products are needed, foreign surface contact is minimized, He said that lower levels of stochin were detected in the postoperative period and the hospital stay was shorter compared to other systems.Üsküdar University SBF.
