2. Historical Development

Objectives, Mission, Vision

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has started its education and training activities in the 2012-2013 academic year by being designed to reach the analytical information which is getting more complex every day in global and social level as a result of technological, social, political and economic transformations.

Vision of our faculty is to produce science by contributing to works in national and international fields by basing on scientificness, contemporary and critical approach, and humanitarian and ethical values. Our faculty provides a scientific application environment with application opportunities (university-hospital cooperation) for our students besides theoretical scientific studies. Mission of our faculty is to raise individuals who have analytical perspective, questioning and problem-solving skills and multidisciplinary perspective; who pay regard to social values, who can evaluate daily events with the light of science, and who adopt creative thinking and innovative approaches.

Fundamental values that our faculty adopts are respect to humanitarian values; commitment to universal-national law and values; being open to change and innovation; being sensitive to environment; aiming for high standards; egalitarian; liberalism and pluralism/participation; awareness on social benefits and responsibilities; critical, rational, scientific ethics and credibility; collecting information, producing, protecting, improvement, transferring, sharing understanding; transparency and accountability, academic pioneer in Türkiye and internalization; satisfaction of all shareholders and continuous development.

4. Units that Research Activities are Carried out

R&D activities are carried out through articles, manifesto, projects, copyrighted works, and thesis in our faculty. Directorate of R&D and Innovation Politics (ARGEYEP) ( has started to carry out works on planning and improvement on social sciences despite of the fact that its focuses cover areas within the scope of Health and Engineering fields due to the fact that our university is the first thematic university in Türkiye.

5. Works on Improvement

Our faculty carries out an improvement process which determines areas and topics for improvement according to units, plans improvement, realizes the planned applications and takes necessary measures by monitoring these applications constantly through also evaluation of shareholders in the meetings where internal organizations consisting of Faculty Administration, Faculty Board, Heads of Departments and Commissions attends. Main stages of our improvement process are carried out in accordance with principles and applications below.

Shareholder Participation

Our internal shareholders are as follows: presidency, units within the presidency, faculties, academic and administrative personnel, student representative, boards and committees. Our external shareholders are as follows: our graduates, official and private profession organizations, media, employers and other university members. The methods and works we put into practice with our Internal and External Shareholders are as follows; determining mission and objectives of the faculty, realization of these objectives and mission, monitoring the adequacy of the applications, joint activities or activity support in improvement processes and methods of assessment-evaluation or face-to-face exchange of ideas.

Internal Evaluation Process and Material Evidence

It monitors quality and internal evaluation processes to see whether mission, objective and strategies of the faculty are reached as a result of joint commissions within our faculty. Central surveys prepared by Assessment and Evaluation Commission are material evidence of our control mechanism with reports and decisions of periodical commission meetings. Moreover, Assessment and Evaluation Survey for Student Satisfaction on Education Content and Management are carried out based on Departments.  The mentioned surveys are planned to be applied twice a year (Fall and Spring).

Faculty Members University Evaluation Surveys and shareholder cooperation correspondences are other material evidence of our control mechanism’s internal evaluation process.
