History of the Uskudar University Faculty of Medicine
The Uskudar University Faculty of Medicine was established in 2019, building on our university's well-established academic expertise in the health sciences and its human-centered approach to education. Our faculty aims to train physicians who embrace a contemporary understanding of medical education, lead scientific research, uphold ethical values and remain sensitive to the needs of society.
Having admitted its first students in the 2019-2020 academic year, our faculty has shown remarkable growth in a short period since its founding, with a strong teaching staff, modern educational infrastructure and a holistic curriculum. Our educational approach is based on integrated, student-centered models and aims to help our students gain professional competence by effectively blending the basic medical sciences with clinical practice.
Our clinical training is carried out through collaborations with various public and private hospitals, most notably NPISTANBUL Brain Hospital, which is affiliated with our university. In addition, hands-on training in simulation laboratories, skills workshops and multidisciplinary clinical settings develops not only our students' professional knowledge and skills but also their ethical sensitivity.
Our faculty graduated its first class on July 7, 2025. This date marks not only a graduation but also a milestone at which our vision came to life and our profile of highly qualified physicians took concrete form. Under the leadership of our Founding Dean, Prof. Dr. Haydar Sur, an academic culture has been created in which excellence in medical education, scientific productivity and ethical responsibility come to the fore.
Today, 1,000 students are enrolled in our faculty, and our growing quotas and academic demand are a testament to the trust placed in our faculty and the quality of our education.
