Our Faculty of Medicine has a strong physical and digital educational infrastructure that supports the delivery of undergraduate medical education in line with contemporary educational standards. Educational activities are supported holistically by theoretical classrooms, laboratories, clinical skills areas, library facilities, and digital learning systems.
The laboratories and practice areas supporting basic and clinical medical education at our faculty include the Prof. Dr. Nurettin Ali Berkol Anatomy Model Hall, Prof. Dr. Sami Zan Anatomy Training Laboratory Dissection Hall, Prof. Dr. Ekrem Kadri Unat Multidisciplinary Laboratory, Prof. Dr. Talia Bali Aykan Histology and Pathology Multidisciplinary Laboratory, Prof. Dr. Cihat Abaoğlu Medical Skills Training Laboratory and the Medical Genetics and Molecular Diagnosis Laboratory. In these areas, students receive hands-on training in basic sciences, clinical skills, and multidisciplinary practice.
Educational processes are supported by digital learning and management systems. The Student Information System (OBS), Learning Management System (LMS), STİX, and KEYPS are actively used for student information and education management; course content, assessment and evaluation processes, program management, and educational planning are carried out through these systems.
Through the Ayhan Songar Library, our faculty’s students have access to a wide range of information resources. The library holds 6,093 printed books, 1,308,846 e-books (78,607 in medicine), and 70,294 e-journals (25,000 in medicine). With a total usable area of 550 m², the library offers 6 group study rooms and seating for 122 people, providing suitable study environments that support students’ individual and group work. Access to printed and electronic resources and scientific databases supports students’ academic and scientific development.
Internship and clinical clerkship training is carried out at public and private tertiary healthcare institutions that provide a sufficient number and variety of patients. In this context, our students’ clinical practice training takes place at Uskudar University NP Brain Hospital, Ataşehir Memorial Hospital, Ümraniye District Health Directorate, Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital, Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital, Zeynep Kamil Women and Children Diseases Training and Research Hospital, Dr. Siyami Ersek Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital, Sancaktepe Şehit Prof. Dr. İlhan Varank Training and Research Hospital, Süreyyapaşa Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Training and Research Hospital, Istanbul Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu City Hospital and Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital.
In addition, under the affiliation with Ataşehir Memorial Hospital, students have the opportunity to observe different healthcare delivery models and develop their clinical skills.
