FACULTY OF MEDICINE EDUCATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE AND RESOURCES
Our Faculty of Medicine possesses a robust physical and digital educational infrastructure that supports the execution of undergraduate medical education in alignment with contemporary educational standards. Educational activities are holistically supported by theoretical lecture halls, laboratories, clinical skill areas, library facilities, and digital learning systems.
Among the laboratories and practice areas supporting basic and clinical medical education in our faculty are the Prof. Dr. Nurettin Ali Berkol Anatomy Model Hall, Prof. Dr. Sami Zan Anatomy Training Laboratory Dissection Hall, Prof. Dr. Ekrem Kadri Unat Multidisciplinary Laboratory, Prof. Dr. Talia Bali Aykan Histology and Pathology Multidisciplinary Laboratory, Prof. Dr. Cihat Abaoğlu Medical Skills Training Laboratory, and the Medical Genetics and Molecular Diagnosis Laboratory. In these areas, students are provided with hands-on, practical training in basic sciences, clinical skills, and multidisciplinary applications.
Educational processes are reinforced by digital learning and management systems. The Student Information System (OBS), Learning Management System (LMS), STİX, and KEYPS are actively utilized for student information and education management; course content, assessment and evaluation processes, curriculum management, and educational planning are conducted through these systems.
Students of our faculty have access to a vast array of information resources through the Ayhan Songar Library. The library houses 6,093 printed books, 1,308,846 e-books (78,607 of which are in the field of medicine), and 70.294 e-journals (25,000 of which are in the field of medicine). Spanning a total usable area of 550 m², the library provides an ideal environment that supports both individual and group study, featuring 6 group study rooms and a seating capacity of 122 people. The academic and scientific development of students is supported by providing access to printed and electronic resources as well as scientific databases.
Internships and clinical clerkships are conducted in public and private healthcare institutions that provide tertiary healthcare services with an adequate number of patients and case diversity. In this context, the clinical practice training of our students is carried out at Uskudar University NP Brain Hospital, Atasehir Memorial Hospital, Umraniye District Health Directorate, Bakirkoy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital, Bagcilar Training and Research Hospital, Zeynep Kamil Women and Children's Diseases Training and Research Hospital, Dr. Siyami Ersek Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital, Sancaktepe Martyr Prof. Dr. Ilhan Varank Training and Research Hospital, Sureyyapasa Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Training and Research Hospital, Istanbul Prof. Dr. Cemil Tascioglu City Hospital, and Umraniye Training and Research Hospital.
In addition, within the scope of the affiliation agreement made with Atasehir Memorial Hospital, students find the opportunity to observe different healthcare delivery models and develop their clinical skills.
In line with its approach to continuously developing its educational infrastructure, our faculty regularly updates its physical, technological, and academic facilities, aiming to provide a high-quality learning environment for its students.
