Criminal Justice (Thesis/Non-Thesis) Master's Degree - Mission and Vision

It contributes to the development of generations that take into account the special situations of crimes committed as a result of ignorance and some mistakes, and the personal responsibility consciousness in punishment, to open up space for advanced academic studies on the prevention of crime, the repayment of crimes, and the improvement of the criminal, the healing of the diseases and wounds in the society, the humanitarian characteristics of the punishments, is to be found.

Especially with the rapid developments in digital communication technologies, there is a need for much more detailed, more comprehensive and in-depth studies in the field of new crime types. With the lectures and theses to be given within the Criminal Justice Master's Program, it is aimed to carry the academic studies that will relate crime and advanced technology to a much higher level and to support the professional orientation of professionals who fight crime with scientific studies. Employing professionals with a high academic level in the Criminal Justice system will enable the prevention, enlightenment, investigation and prosecution of crimes to be much more functional for the benefit of society.

The Criminal Justice Master's Program focuses on the control and prevention of crime and sees crime as a social problem and aims to develop the capacity of its students to improve the conditions and functions of the current criminal justice system. It focuses on developing analytical thinking skills, ethical approach and problem solving abilities. It aims to encourage them to produce new solutions to prevent crime, which is the most important and difficult problem of our time, from being committed. The Criminal Justice Master's Program is opened with the aim of contributing to this need.

In the Criminal Justice Master's Program, in addition to developments in the field of forensic sciences, main practices and theories in the field of criminology, law enforcement activities, execution methods and objectives, terrorism and terrorism, cybercrime, crime maps, crime scene investigation, evidence collection in accordance with the field in which the student wants to specialize, Courses such as social effects of alcohol and drugs, information security, crime prevention and analysis, interview techniques are given. It is also possible for our faculty members working at the Graduate School of Addiction and Forensic Sciences and the Center for Violence and Crime Prevention to participate in scientific research and projects in these areas.
