Improvement Process

Improvements that are deemed necessary in the program contents are determined by the academic staff of the program, Education and Quality Commissions and academic board meetings. New measures are taken, where necessary, with the contribution of feedback from internal stakeholders by constantly monitoring the practices carried out in accordance with this plan.

The program outcomes planned in accordance with the principles determined within the scope of TYYÇ are also planned and implemented in accordance with the PDCA cycle, with the predicted improvements to be made by the faculty members at the end of each semester of the academic year.

Student Centered Learning, Teaching and Assessment

Policies and Accessibility

Our school's student-centered learning policy complies with the regulations and basic principles of Üsküdar University and is in line with the Bologna process. Active learning process; student-centered education is carried out through regular communication with students, regular gathering of lecturer and student feedback, extracurricular reading, project and homework strategies.

All applications planned in line with the student-centered education policy are shared with the students through the Faculty and Department Web page, OBS and STIX.

Competencies

Üsküdar University encourages its academic staff to participate in domestic and international trainings and meetings in order to develop the competencies of faculty members on student-centered education model and active learning in the unit (See ITBF Domestic-International Congress File)

Student Participation


In determining credit values based on student workload, students participate in the process through assessment and evaluation, student representatives and face to face interviews as well as academic consultancy services.

Elective Courses
In our school programs, with the understanding of interdisciplinary teaching, there are elective courses inside and outside the department for the student to gain cultural depth and to recognize different disciplines.

Graduation Conditions

The student has to reach the program learning outcomes targeted by the measurement and evaluation method (BDI) for graduation and complete the required ECTS (120). These conditions are made visible through the Student Information System and the Web.

Student Complaints and Suggestions

Students' complaints and suggestions are reached through the University Advisory System See http://cozum.uskudar.edu.tr/ ,Student Counseling System and Web page, as well as face-to-face interviews, and necessary measures are taken to avoid repetition of the problem within the Faculty.

Student Acceptance and Development, Recognition and Certification
Our school accepts students according to the results of Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) held by ÖSYM.

Academic Staff

Learning Resources, Accessibility and Supports

Our university has a Central Library. The library has resources and a computer lab where students can keep up with current and electronic resources. In addition, efforts to establish a Specialized Library have been initiated in our departments. (See Specialized Library File)

In addition, the maximum participation of students in these activities is provided within the scope of the University Culture course.

Academic and social consultancy support is provided for each student by determining a faculty member to provide academic and social counseling.

At the beginning of each academic year, new orientation meetings and meeting meetings are organized for the adaptation and meeting of new students, faculty members and for their purpose.

The services and supports provided to the student are developed within the framework of the planning studies of the Senate, Faculty and Department boards.

Update and Method


Examinations and updates related to the programs are carried out at the Department Board, Education and Quality Commissions, School Board of Directors and Academic Board meetings, which meet regularly. These data are discussed and reported in the Academic Board of the School, and compliance with the directives and Senate decisions is taken into consideration in the reports. Whether or not program outcomes are achieved is monitored through Measurement and Evaluation, Student Counseling System and face-to-face interviews.

Improvement and Information

The syllabuses created by the Measurement and Evaluation, Student Counseling System and face-to-face meetings method are discussed at the Department Board meetings and carried to the Academic Board. In accordance with the decisions taken, necessary updates and improvements are made. Stakeholders are informed about the improvements and changes made through the Web page and the Student Counseling System and through face-to-face interviews.

Accreditation


Our university achieved full accreditation qualifications by getting full marks from FEDEK, PEARSON, ISO 17025 audits. Our university units work with accreditation institutions such as İLEDAK, HEPDAK, MÜDEK, SABAK and compliance with ORPHEUS standards. The unit (s) responsible for quality management within the institution organizes liaison meetings with quality commissions and accreditation institutions. Participation in information workshops held with the FEDEK commission. Document sharing is provided by the internal quality software.
As of 14 April 2018, Philosophy, Psychology (Turkish) and Psychology (English) programs of our faculty have been entitled to receive FEDEK Accreditation in the accreditation decision regarding the first formal education undergraduate programs for which it was first evaluated by FEDEK.
