1. About Us

The Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Üsküdar University, a thematic university* in the field of behavioral health and sciences, conducts interdisciplinary research and studies by drawing from NPİstanbul Brain Hospital’s 16 years of experience as well as from the participation of other faculties Our faculty, which structures the applied engineering notions based in the field of basic sciences around the theme of health sciences has started its education and training operations in 2012-2013 academic year with the aim of producing patents, projects, products while disseminating added value at national and international scale.

3. Education

Our programs accept students according to numerical score measurement. Although the language of instruction is English for the 7 departments in our faculty, the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics accepts students in in both English and Turkish languages. In addition to offering double major and minor programs in our faculty, our faculty also allows our students to gain international experience through 93 ERASMUS agreements. (Appendix 8)

With all these, the main activity of our faculty is to educate qualified researchers and to promote qualified workforce workforce. The research and application centers established in order to contribute within this framework also contribute to other institutions that want to receive service together with our students.

4. Research and Development

R & D activities in our faculty are carried out through articles, papers, projects, copyright works and theses. Turkey's first thematic areas treated in the health sciences and the universities of university R & D covers the Health and Engineering focus areas and conducted intensive academic studies in this area. 5. Stakeholders

Rectorate, units affiliated to the rectorate, faculties, academic and administrative staff, student representatives, boards and commissions are our internal stakeholders; while graduates, public and private professional organizations, non-governmental organizations, technology development and application companies, employers and other university members are our external stakeholders.

Our Internal and External Stakeholders provide a valuable contribution to the implementation of the mission and objectives of the faculty as we check the adequacy of the applications and to contribute to the improvement processes. The related faculty activities are carried out through joint activities, institution visits, measurement-evaluation processes or mutual consultation processes, and our students are encouraged to participate in these processes through internships, event organization and social networking processes. 6. Internal Evaluation Process and Material Evidence

As a result of the joint efforts of the 5 commissions under our faculty, the extent to which the faculty has achieved its mission, goals and strategies is monitored through quality and internal evaluation processes. The minutes and decisions of the committee meetings held at regular intervals and the central questionnaires prepared by the Measurement and Evaluation Commission (Student Satisfaction Measurement and Evaluation on the Content and Method of Education) constitute the material evidence of our control mechanism. In addition, Student Satisfaction Measurement and Evaluation Questionnaires are conducted on the basis of Departments. The surveys are planned to be conducted at least twice a year (Fall and Spring) (see Measurement and Evaluation File) and implemented. Stakeholder cooperation correspondence and stakeholder surveys are the other material evidence of our control mechanism for the internal evaluation process. (See Stakeholder File)

7. Accessibility-Visibility

All information about our faculty, applications, activities, etc. can be followed on our regularly updated website. For this purpose, there is a Web Coordinator in our Faculty. In addition to our website, which can be accessed by students and other stakeholders, Student Information System (Appendix-10), Student Mail System, Stix (Appendix-11) application and central services composed of Laws and Regulations (Appendix-12) are provided. In addition, informative visual files have been shared on our website in order to provide access to these resources to students, administrative and academic staff (Appendix-13).

8. Improvement

Our faculty; In the meetings held by the Faculty Administration, Faculty Board, Department Heads and Commissions internal organizations, create an improvement process that determines the areas and subjects of improvement for the units, makes improvement plans, implements the planned applications and takes necessary measures by continuously monitoring these practices by evaluating stakeholder views. It operates. The processes related to this are evaluated first in the department meetings and then on the agenda by the faculty board of directors and the academic general assembly.
