Üsküdar University’s Department of Radio, Television and Cinema is an academic discipline that explores radio, television, cinema, and digital media within the framework of communication theories, audiovisual storytelling, and media production processes. Its broad scope encompasses the social and cultural impact of media, film language, screenwriting, cinematography, editing and post-production, and broadcasting techniques. Bringing together theoretical knowledge, creative storytelling methods, and technical production processes, the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema examines how media content is conceived, produced, and delivered to audiences.
The department’s educational approach combines this academic scope with hands-on practice. From the early stages of their studies, students participate in production processes in industry-standard studios and practical training environments, gaining experience in areas such as screenwriting, filming, editing, and broadcasting. Guided by experienced academics, the program integrates traditional broadcasting methods with the evolving production practices of digital media, enabling students to translate theoretical knowledge into practical skills.
