What Is the Video Editing and Color Grading Workshop? / What Is Its Purpose?
Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of the workshop is to enable students of the Faculty of Communication to put their theoretical knowledge of cinema, television, and new media into practice and to complete the editing, sound design, and color grading processes of documentaries, short films, and medium- and feature-length projects prepared for national and international competitions in accordance with industry standards.
Key Features: Located on the 4th floor of the South Campus C-D Block, the workshop is fully sound- and light-proofed. This acoustically and optically controlled architectural environment provides the ideal conditions for precise audio mixing and accurate color choices that closely reflect real-life visual conditions.
Academic Contribution: The unit enables students to manage the post-production processes of all types of institutional events, including seminars, interviews, ceremonies, and concerts held both on and off campus, providing them with practical agency and studio experience. Content edited in the workshop is published on the university's official social media channels. In addition, the workshop brings academia and industry-oriented projects together by enabling the professional completion of video recording and editing operations for large-scale projects carried out in collaboration with various institutions, particularly the Istanbul Development Agency (İSTKA) and other development agencies.
