Research Focus

The Cyber Psychology and Technology-Oriented Addictions Working Group aims to examine the effects of digital technologies on human behavior, cognitive processes, emotional regulation, and social interaction from a multidimensional perspective. The group investigates topics such as technology-related addictions (internet, smartphone, social media, gaming, and online risky behaviors), human–artificial intelligence interactions, algorithmic influence, digital privacy, identity construction, the attention economy, digital health, and cyberbullying through biopsychosocial and neuropsychological perspectives.

Mission

The mission of the Cyber Psychology and Technology-Oriented Addictions Working Group is to scientifically investigate the psychological impacts of digitalization, develop innovative models for the prevention and intervention of technology-based addictions, produce high-quality research that contributes to national and international literature, and enhance public awareness through collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including academia, public institutions, civil society organizations, and the technology sector.

Guided by ethical principles and responsibilities, the group seeks to contribute to the development of healthier, safer, and more conscious behaviors in the digital environment.

Vision

The group's vision is to become one of Türkiye’s leading centers in the field of cyber psychology and to establish a multidisciplinary research ecosystem that is internationally recognized for producing solution-oriented scientific outputs in the areas of technology-oriented addictions and digital behavioral sciences.

In the long term, the group aims to build a network of expertise capable of generating societal impact through collaboration with policymakers, while developing innovative methods in AI-based assessment technologies, digital behavior modeling, and digital well-being.
