What is the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program?

The Medical Laboratory Techniques Program aims to train professionals who have internalized the concepts and principles related to their field, who base their knowledge on universal science and education in the field of medical laboratory services, who can combine theoretical knowledge with practice, who can use methods related to diagnostic data (Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology-Parasitology and Cytogenetics, etc.), who can obtain, organize, and present findings for appropriate sharing and use, and who are qualified to work in institutions providing medical laboratory services within the business structure and organizational system of the medical and health sector.

The Medical Laboratory Techniques Program aims to train individuals who possess sufficient foundational knowledge and skills in their field, enabling them to interpret and evaluate data, identify problems, and develop solutions.

It also aims to cultivate professionals who can identify and effectively utilize necessary methods, technical services, and technologies for applications; solve unforeseen problems encountered in applications; take responsibility in working groups and possess independent work skills; communicate effectively; are tolerant, patient, and have a level of foreign language proficiency that allows them to follow innovations in their field.

Within the scope of the program, it is aimed to train individuals who possess universal and cultural values, a sense of professional ethical competence, a lifelong learning awareness in both individual and professional fields, who follow and continuously renew themselves by monitoring sectoral developments in science and technology; and who possess knowledge, skills, competence, and awareness regarding safety, health, and environmental protection measures.

What Courses Are Taken in the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program?

Courses taken in the 1st year of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program include: Basic Anatomy and Physiology, Laboratory Safety, Basic Mathematics, General Pathology, Positive Psychology and Communication Skills, University Culture I, Knowledge of Diseases, Atatürk's Principles and History of the Turkish Revolution I, Turkish Language I, English I, Biochemistry, Introduction to Hematology, Medical Biology and Genetics, General Chemistry, Basic Microbiology, Use and Maintenance of Laboratory Instruments, University Culture II, Atatürk's Principles and History of the Turkish Revolution II, Turkish Language II, English II.

The Medical Laboratory Techniques Program is among the programs eligible for the Double Major Program (DMP).
