TÜBİTAK to Support Projects of 7 More Üsküdar Üniversitesi Students

Students and faculty members of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) have achieved another significant success. The support results for applications made to the “TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program,” conducted by TÜBİTAK Scientist Support Programs Presidency (BİDEB), have been announced. Within this scope, a total of 7 projects were deemed eligible for support by TÜBİTAK.

Prof. Dr. Mesut Karahan: “The acquisition of being able to transform ideas into a project format is very important.”

Evaluating the accepted projects, SHMYO Director Prof. Dr. Mesut Karahan stated; “We believe it is very important for our SHMYO students not only to acquire their vocational knowledge at SHMYO but also to gain the ability to transform their ideas into a project format through these projects. I believe they will develop their research skills and that new projects will emerge in the future. Within SHMYO, we prioritize project writing training for our students to acquire and develop these competencies.”

3 Projects from the Medical Promotion and Marketing Program Qualified for Support

3 projects, advised by Dr. Lecturer Damla Yılmazoğlu, Head of the Medical Promotion and Marketing Program, qualified for support.

Sudenaz Ermurat: “The Effect of Moral Norms on Green Purchasing Behavior in the Context of Planned Behavior Theory: The Regulatory Role of Social Justice Advocacy”

Nisanur Gökçek: “The Effect of Perceived Value on Household Waste Segregation Behavior: The Regulatory Role of Environmental Awareness”

Dilara Kıyan: “The Effect of Consumer’s Need for Uniqueness on Inspiration Towards Mass Luxury Brands and Mass Luxury Brand Purchase Intention: The Mediating Role of Fashion Consciousness” projects qualified for support by TÜBİTAK.

2 Projects from the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program Qualified for Support

2 projects advised by Dr. Lecturer Ömer Faruk Karasakal, Head of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program, qualified for support.

From Karasakal’s team, who took on project consultancy:  

Duru Su Orkun: “In silico analysis of missense SNPs in the CDH9 gene” 

Gizem Korkmaz: “Bioinformatic analysis of missense SNPs in the SNCA gene associated with Parkinson's Disease” projects qualified for support by TÜBİTAK.

2 Projects from Medical Imaging Techniques and Food Technology Programs Also Qualified for Support

Dr. Lecturer Öznur Özge Özcan’s project, submitted with Medical Imaging Techniques Program student Filiz Sansür, titled “Investigation of the Psychological Effects of Medical Imaging Under the Possibility of Breast Cancer,” 

and Food Technology Program Lecturer Selen Akbulut’s project, submitted with student Büşra Sağlık, titled “Determination of Possible Microplastic Presence in Mineral Waters,” also qualified for support by TÜBİTAK.
