Üsküdar University’s management system has been structured in accordance with the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and the “Regulation on Academic Organization in Universities,” with the aim of ensuring that academic and administrative processes are carried out effectively, transparently, and accountably.
The UKSPRO software system is used to ensure the effective monitoring and traceability of the University’s quality processes in a digital environment. This comprehensive system encompasses a wide range of parameters, from document tracking and the monitoring of corrective and preventive actions to training management and meeting organization. Through UKSPRO, all these processes can be systematically and transparently conducted and monitored under the relevant categories, enabling all academic units of our University to access the areas they need quickly and easily.
Structure of Management and Administrative Units
The Rectorate is the highest administrative body of the University, under which faculties, institutes, and vocational schools are organized. The administration of academic units is carried out through the following organizational structures:
Faculties
- Dean: The academic and administrative head of the faculty. The Dean is appointed in accordance with the Higher Education Law and is responsible for all activities of the faculty.
- Vice Deans: Support the academic and administrative operations of the faculty under the Dean.
- Faculty Board: Chaired by the Dean and composed of department heads, elected faculty members, and representatives of professors, associate professors, and assistant professors.
- Faculty Executive Board: Chaired by the Dean and composed of elected faculty members, responsible for decision-making processes.
- Department Chairs: Responsible for the planning and implementation of educational and instructional activities.
Institutes
- Director: The administrative and academic head responsible for the graduate programs conducted within the institute.
- Institute Board: Chaired by the Director and composed of heads of departments and faculty representatives.
- Institute Executive Board: Contributes to decision-making processes together with members elected under the chairmanship of the Director.
Vocational Schools
- Director: Responsible for the administrative and academic management of the vocational school.
- Vocational School Board: Chaired by the Director and composed of program heads and faculty representatives.
- Vocational School Executive Board: Operates under the Director together with designated representatives.
Administrative Staff
- Unit Secretaries (Faculty/Institute/Vocational School): Coordinate academic and administrative processes and participate in meetings as rapporteurs.
- Administrative Affairs and Archive Specialist/Assistant: Provides support within the Secretary’s area of responsibility.
Management of Resources
Our University adopts the principle of planned, effective, and efficient use of all academic and administrative resources. The management of human resources, financial resources, equipment, software, movable and immovable assets, and other resources is carried out in coordination with the relevant administrative departments.
Information Management System
Information management is carried out in accordance with the principles of accessibility and data security. Fast and secure access to information is provided to all students, academic staff, and administrative staff through digital platforms:
- OBS
- BBS
- STIX
- ALMS
These systems operate under the supervision of the relevant administrative units and are continuously improved with a focus on user satisfaction.
Quality of Services Provided by External Parties
Procurement of external services is planned through the Electronic Document and Archive Management System (EBYS) upon the request of the relevant academic unit. Requests are evaluated by the relevant units.
Public Disclosure
All scientific, social, cultural, and institutional activities carried out at our University are communicated to the public through the official web pages of the relevant academic units, social media channels, and the University’s main website. In accordance with the principles of openness and transparency, stakeholder information processes are conducted with due care.
Management Effectiveness and Accountability
All academic and administrative activities are regularly monitored through the University Senate, the University Executive Board, and Quality Commissions. In addition:
- Employee and student feedback surveys,
- Solution Center applications,
- External evaluation reports,
are used as important sources of data for assessing management effectiveness and institutional accountability.
