What is Laboratory Technology Program?
Laboratory Technology Program aims to competent laboratory technician who can carry out analysis of plant, soil, water, food, forage and fertilizer in agricultural production under laboratory conditions and who can follow new systems in their field and new technological methods. Laboratory technicians carry out procedures such as preparation or materials and samples before analyses; carrying out chemical biochemical and microbiological analysis of samples such as soil, plant, water, food, forage and fertilize; evaluating the results of the analysis to a certain degree and submitting the results to responsible personnel; following regulations and standards on analysis studies and so on.
Program Content of Laboratory Technology

The education period of the Laboratory Technology Program is 2 years and the language of instruction is Turkish. It is aimed to provide students with the skills to work in laboratories with both theoretical and applied courses taught in the Laboratory Technology Program. In the curriculum, there are courses in which various analysis techniques such as microbiological analysis, water analysis, plant analysis, soil analysis, food analysis, as well as the principles of safe working in the laboratory, laboratory techniques, standardization and quality concepts are taught. In addition, students are expected to complete their practice training with a 20-day summer internship, which they will do in high-level centers.
Employment Opportunities
Students graduated from the Laboratory Technology program can work as technicians in laboratories. The graduates can also work in laboratories of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, State Hydraulic Works, Agricultural Research Graduate Schools, Agricultural Provincial Control Laboratories, Food Control Laboratories, Waste Water Treatment Plants, laboratories which analyses soil-water-plant and fertilizers, factories producing all kinds of food, pharmaceuticals, agricultural inputs, laboratories established in the municipality, laboratories of the related departments of the university, laboratories of food factories, and private laboratories of their own establishments.
