The 3+1 Vocational Training in Enterprises (VTE) Model is being implemented in 8 programs at Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services (VSHS) as of the 2026-2027 Academic Year.
Within the scope of the new model, students will receive theoretical knowledge and practical training at the university during the first three semesters, and will gain professional experience in real work environments by spending their final semester full-time within the sector.
The 3+1 Vocational Training in Enterprises (VTE) Model, introduced by the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) Presidency for associate degree programs, is being implemented in 8 programs at Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services as of the 2026-2027 Academic Year.
Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services, aiming to train qualified mid-level human resources in the healthcare sector, intends to graduate its students not only with academic knowledge but also with strong field experience through the new education model.
Within the scope of the new model, students will receive theoretical knowledge and practical training at the university during the first three semesters, and will gain professional experience in real work environments by spending their final semester full-time within the sector. Thus, students will get to know business life closely before graduating, will transform their knowledge and skills into practice, and will start their careers with a significant advantage.
Within the scope of the 3+1 Vocational Training in Enterprises (VTE) Model, students will gain professional experience by receiving their theoretical knowledge and practical vocational training at the university during the first 3 semesters, and then spending their final semester full-time within the sector, in real work environments.
Thanks to the model, students will have the opportunity to experience working life before graduating; they will enhance their professional competencies by developing their knowledge and skills in a real work environment and will make a strong start to their careers. At the same time, university-industry cooperation will strengthen, and the employability of our graduates will significantly increase.
As of the 2026-2027 Academic Year, the programs at Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services where the 3+1 Vocational Training in Enterprises Model will be applied are: “Biomedical Device Technology, Pharmacy Services, Food Technology, Laboratory Technology, Nuclear Technology and Radiation Safety, Opticianry, Medical and Aromatic Plants, and Elderly Care.”
With the 3+1 Vocational Training in Enterprises Model, students will reinforce the theoretical and practical training they received at the university during the first three semesters in their professional life in the final semester. Thus, upon graduation, they will have not only a diploma but also real work experience.
Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services aims to train its students as healthcare professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and experience required by the sector through this application.
