COMPUTER ENGINEERING (THESIS/NON-THESIS) MASTER'S PROGRAM

Dear Students,

For the students who have qualified for final registration from the primary and reserve lists in the 2026-2027 Fall term, they are required to come to the student affairs unit located at the Çarşı Campus with the originals of their application documents, fill out the "Registration Form," submit the required documents listed below, and then complete their transactions at the accounting unit located at the Main Campus.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS SOUGHT IN CANDIDATES

* Students who hold a bachelor's degree outside the relevant field are required to take Scientific Preparation (Bilimsel Hazırlık) courses.

Student Admission Conditions for the Program

a) In order to apply to a master's program, candidates must hold a bachelor's diploma. The equivalence of bachelor's diplomas obtained abroad must be approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

b) Graduates of undergraduate programs that admit students under the Quantitative-Weighted score type in the national university entrance exam may apply to the program. Candidates who obtained their bachelor's degree in a field other than Computer Engineering or Software Engineering will be required to attend the Scientific Preparation Program to be determined by the Department of Computer Engineering and the Institute's Board of Directors.

c) Candidates applying to the master's program must have obtained a minimum score of 55 on the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES). Candidates who have obtained a score equivalent to the ALES on the "Graduate Record Examination" (GRE), which is accepted by the Interuniversity Council as equivalent to the ALES and is internationally recognized, will also be evaluated. In admission to master's programs, the ALES score, undergraduate GPA, and interview result are evaluated.

e) An English proficiency certificate is required for English-language master's programs. For programs conducted in English or another foreign language, the foreign language proficiency level and other criteria proposed by the relevant institute's board of directors and approved by the Senate and announced to candidates are required. Candidate students may take the TOEFL IBT, YDS, e-YDS, or the English Proficiency Exam held periodically by Üsküdar University.

f) A candidate must score at least 65 out of 100 on the YDS, e-YDS, or YÖKDİL, at least 65 on the ÜÜİYS (Üsküdar University Foreign Language Proficiency Exam), or at least 78 on the TOEFL IBT.

g) For applications to graduate programs conducted in a foreign language, the foreign language proficiency requirement is not sought for candidates whose native language is the language of instruction of the program, or who completed their undergraduate and/or graduate studies in a country where the native language is the language of instruction of the program.

h) Based on the score obtained from the foreign language proficiency and/or placement exam, it is determined whether the student is exempt from the foreign language preparatory class and, if not, at which level they will study in the foreign language preparatory class.
