Forensic Biology and Genetics Laboratory is a unit where molecular genetic analysis of biological samples such as cells, paraffin-embedded tissue, blood, urine, sperm, hair, bone, hair, saliva and oral swabs, etc., which may contribute to the elucidation of a criminal case, are performed.
Unlike the biology and genetics education in engineering faculties, Üsküdar University, which initiated Turkey's first forensic sciences education at undergraduate level, aims to enable graduates to work as expert personnel in criminal laboratories and in public and private institutions and organizations that will work with all kinds of criminal evidence.
In the Forensic Biology and Genetics Laboratory, it is taught to train competent, responsible, continuously self-improving scientists who serve the judiciary-society and specialize in their field by making use of contemporary science and technology and the correct use of calibrated devices with internationally accepted standards or valid and reliable methods we have developed.
