Basic Medical Education
Basic medical sciences education in dental education is provided to a limited extent. However, the enrichment of healthcare services, the expansion of their scope, and the increasing use of interventional procedures have rendered this limited medical education insufficient. In the near future, this inadequacy is expected to become even more pronounced and may lead to discussions regarding the authority and responsibilities of dentists.
For these reasons, the Basic Sciences curriculum at the Faculty of Dentistry of Üsküdar University is implemented with a comprehensive and well-structured content, taking into consideration both the National Core Curriculum for Undergraduate Dental Education 2024 (DUCEP 2024) and the educational framework of the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE).
