Children and Climate Research Working Group

Research Focus

Today, approximately 1 million children are in the high-risk group in terms of the impacts of the climate crisis. Climate change causes problems that directly affect children such as respiratory diseases, vector-borne infectious diseases, migration, stress and drought. It is important to address the climate crisis caused by climate change before it is too late. With the "Child and Climate Research Group", it is planned to carry out academic and applied studies to raise awareness of children of all ages, primarily early childhood children, their caregivers and all professionals in contact with children (child development specialists, teachers, psychologists, social workers, pediatricians, nurses) and thus the society, to raise awareness, to prevent various consumption situations and to develop strategies to cope with situations arising from climate crises.
