HIT LAB, operating under the Department of Public Relations and Publicity within the Faculty of Communication at Üsküdar University, was established on May 3, 2023, to provide students with a practical environment where they can prepare for communication competitions, enhance their professional competencies, and carry out project-based work.
HIT LAB is a workspace and practice area where students can prepare for national and international communication competitions, particularly the Altın Pusula Genç İletişimciler Yarışması (Golden Compass Young Communicators Competition) organized by the Public Relations Association of Türkiye (TÜHİD), and develop their Graduation Projects.
Purpose of HIT LAB
The primary purpose of HIT LAB is to enable students of the Department of Public Relations and Publicity to transform their theoretical knowledge into practical experience while developing the professional skills required in the communication industry.
Within the laboratory, the aim is to strengthen students' skills in creative thinking, research, strategic communication planning, campaign development, project management, and effective presentation. Students gain experience in preparing and presenting the communication campaigns and social responsibility projects they develop in accordance with professional standards and practices.
HIT LAB also supports the development of essential professional competencies such as teamwork, task delegation, time management, problem-solving, and stress management, all of which are highly valued in the communication sector.
Opportunities Offered by HIT LAB for Students
HIT LAB provides a dedicated physical workspace where students can conduct both individual and group projects. Within the laboratory, students develop competition entries, communication campaigns, and socially responsible Graduation Projects.
Throughout the project development process, students receive active academic guidance from faculty members in the Department of Public Relations and Publicity. They benefit from expert support during every stage of their work, including idea generation, research, strategic planning, content creation, and presentation preparation.
Presentation rehearsals and practice sessions conducted in the laboratory enable students to develop the confidence and skills needed to present their projects effectively before juries and target audiences. As a result, students gain valuable experience in professional communication environments and competition processes before graduation.
