RADIATION PROTECTION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE TRAINING IN DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY WITH ADVANCED PRACTICES AND CURRENT APPROACHES

TARAD 2015

(December 19- 20, 2015)

The aim of "Radiation Protection and Quality Assurance in Diagnostic Radiology with Current Approaches" and Mammographyfor 2015 (TARAD2015), which will be organized by Üsküdar University Medical Radiation Research Center (ÜSMERA)on 19-20 December 2015 at Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus; The aim of "Radiation Protection and Quality Assurance in Diagnostic Radiology with Current Approaches" and Mammography for 2015 (TARAD2015) is to address basic issues such as the use of the most appropriate ionizing radiation for medical purposes in the patient, which is one of the most discussed and evaluated issues in radiology applications in the world today, the process of 'justification', the stages of implementation of this process in the international arena and the training of employees, international educators and the World Society of Radiology Technologists (International Society of Radiographers & Radiological Technologists ISRRT ), together with the members of the Turkish Medical Radiotechnology Association (TMRT-DER), to transfer the concepts of justification and quality in the best way to radiology technicians and workers in Turkey. One of the topics to be discussed at TARAD2015 is the concept of ionizing radiation and the relationship of a radiology worker with this concept in the professional field. The concepts of quality in radiology in general and quality in mammography under the title of quality are among the topics to be discussed at TARAD2015. Apart from these, TARAD2015 is an educational activity and plans to provide a detailed training to all participants according to the content of the thematic topic, which will change every year.

Hope to see you at TARAD2015

Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Ozan TEKİN -Usmera Director

Program Objectives

The aim ofTARAD2015 program is to provide an approach to the interaction of ionizing radiation with the human cell and its effect on cellular and tissue level in detail. In addition, the concept of Quality is transferred to the participant and the participants are informed about the quantity of radiation specific for each imaging method used in radiology. The concept of quality assurance is not only a concern for radiology physicians or radiology technicians. It is an issue that needs to be addressed primarily and is very important in environments where ionizing radiation is present. TARAD2015 scientific committee; all of these issues from the international platform to participate in the activity of educators from the international platform to the world and regional scales of International laws, the European Union Radiation Protection Directives and International scale up to the Rights of Patients by providing comparative training in order to evaluate the situation in Turkey and to bring solutions to the evaluation of the situation in Turkey and to propose solutions to be presented to Non-Governmental Organizations and the Ministry of Health. Participants will also receive a Certificate of Participation in cooperation with ÜSMERA and Turkish Medical Radiotechnology Association (TMRT-DER).

AtTARAD2015, the existing Radiation Protection Laws in Turkey and the legislation that imposes similar professional sanctions will be discussed comparatively on an international scale and will create an opportunity to examine the effects on all radiology workers (specialists, technicians, etc.). In addition, in order to raise the level of education on the relevant subject and to ensure professional competencies, scientific studies and legislations published on the international platform will be discussed separately and the integration process within the framework of Turkey and the operating principles of the possible improvement process will be evaluated together with the participating NGOs and professional representatives. In addition, all participants will receive a PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATE as a jointwork of TMRT-DER and ÜSMERA.
