Clinical Hypnosis Talks Held!

“You either close consciousness or open it more”

Ertuç, providing information about humanistic hypnosis and classical hypnosis, said; “In classical hypnosis, the method of disabling consciousness, which we call the ‘critical factor,’ is used more frequently. Actually, hypnosis is the process of changing a person's level of consciousness, causing certain transformations in their consciousness. Consciousness changes in two ways. You either close consciousness or open it more. Classical hypnosis, on the other hand, is more about absorbing consciousness and helping the person by giving them telepathic suggestions through the subconscious. It tries to help the client by releasing their distress and emotions. In humanistic hypnosis, on the exact contrary, it is not about closing consciousness but about activating the person and enabling them to become independent, maximizing their self-awareness, rising towards the intuitive realm, and striving to find and heal themselves from their problems. Consciousness opens up so much, bringing such awareness, that with the rise in consciousness, the person is enabled to see their own subconscious.”

“Humanistic hypnosis brought different perspectives to many concepts”

Sebahattin Ertuç, speaking about the principles of humanistic hypnosis, said; “Humanistic hypnosis has brought different perspectives to many concepts we know. There are six principles. These are; Belief, big consciousness, reality, time, spirit, and intention. Belief refers to our limiting beliefs. We do not talk about religious, divine beliefs. Our beliefs are what we consider possible. Our perceptions are an illusion of reality. Our beliefs should be aimed at completing our mission in this world in the best possible way. Big consciousness is our all-encompassing side. It is personal, collective. It is what exalts us, connects us, uplifts us, enlightens us. It is also us. What we call reality is the sum of perceptions that we have accepted as an illusion. What we see outside is our perspective. Time is a concept created by the human mind, meaning it is an illusion. Spirit is our unseen and non-material side. It is within us and with us at all times. The spirit is what animates the body and gains meaning through the body.” he stated.

“Conscience is our uninjured part”

Ertuç, speaking about five different mechanisms operating in the subconscious, said; “The mechanisms operating in the subconscious are; male, female, child, critical, and conscience. Conscience is our uninjured part. When we look, the struggle within a person takes place between the child and the critical. The male and female take on the roles of mother and father to see the child's needs. If the child gives up on it and convinces the critical, their life achieves the desired happiness. Therefore, our records from childhood are very important. Our childhood records reveal our perspective on life and our limiting beliefs. In this context, the inner child is very important. At the same time, it is the mother and father who suppress the child and change their perspective. The critical, in fact, is a technique that provides great support for a person to develop and heal themselves by freeing them from external judgment.” he stated.
