The vision of our department is to become an internationally recognized, pioneering leader at both academic and industry levels, drawing on the multidimensional and interdisciplinary nature of the social sciences, to educate and develop individuals who are highly productive in scholarly work, committed to ethical values, and culturally well-equipped, and who make innovative contributions to global and societal development through education, teaching, and research in the field of Translation Studies.
Mission
The mission of our department is to educate qualified and principled translators and interpreters who, in line with the principle of excellence in education and research, possess advanced language, culture, and communication competence in English and Turkish as well as strong interdisciplinary knowledge, who can manage translation processes within a framework of scientific methods, and who demonstrate a high level of critical thinking, ethical responsibility, and a focus on sustainability and social benefit.
