Program Educational Objectives

1. To educate competent pathology laboratory technicians who possess comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills and are proficient in the use of modern laboratory technologies and equipment.
2. To prepare graduates who are capable of processing tissue and body fluid specimens in accordance with international standards by performing laboratory procedures, including fixation, tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining, with a high level of accuracy and quality.
3. To educate professionals who adhere to the principles of medical ethics and contribute directly to accurate and timely pathological diagnosis by minimizing pre-analytical and analytical errors throughout laboratory processes.
4. To develop pathology technicians who strictly comply with laboratory safety and biosafety regulations, particularly in environments involving hazardous chemicals such as formaldehyde and xylene.
5. To equip graduates with the vision and professional competence required to keep pace with technological advancements and emerging molecular and histochemical techniques in the field of pathology.

Program Goals

To ensure that, by graduation, students are able to produce high-quality tissue sections using a microtome and independently perform routine hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining as well as a variety of special staining techniques. To develop students' competencies in operating tissue processors, automated staining systems, and immunohistochemistry automation systems, as well as performing their routine maintenance. To prepare graduates who can communicate and collaborate professionally, ethically, and effectively with pathologists, laboratory personnel, hospital administrators, and other members of the healthcare team. To equip students with the knowledge and skills required to ensure complete documentation and accurate record-keeping throughout all laboratory processes, including specimen reception, processing, reporting, and archiving, in accordance with quality management systems.
