The News Workshop within Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication, New Media and Journalism is an application unit that continues its activities in order for students to improve themselves in the field of practice. News Workshop activities are coordinated by Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan, Head of the Department of New Media and Journalism.
News Workshop Trainings
Students who participate in the voluntary training programs organized by the News Workshop have the opportunity to reinforce the academic education they receive in the courses. The trainings organized on various topics such as news writing, news values, visual design, journalism and society, news photography contribute to the development of Faculty of Communication students in both academic and practical fields. The content produced by the students during their trainings is published in Haber Üsküdar newspaper published by Haber Workshop and on the website haberuskudar.com. These productions are sent to national competitions and organizations to keep students' sense of competition and motivation alive.
News Workshop Activities
In addition to the academic staff of the faculty, well-known names in the sector participate in the events organized in the workshop and share their experiences with the students. These events help students develop their social circles and establish new business contacts.
In the News Workshop, students also have technical equipment to improve their skills in using new generation technologies. The workshop is equipped with Mac stations, cameras and a projector for presentations, which students can use in news production and digital design processes.
