For the 2026-2027 Fall semester, no science exam will be administered for Thesis/Non-Thesis programs; instead:

• For our Thesis programs, 65% of the Quantitative ALES score and 35% of the undergraduate graduation grade point average will be used.
• For Non-Thesis programs, 50% of the undergraduate graduation grade will be used, along with 50% of the relevant ALES score, if available.
• For candidates applying to Non-Thesis programs who do not have an ALES score, a score of 55 will be accepted for ranking purposes.

During the 2026-2027 Fall semester, students entitled to final registration from the principal and reserve lists must come, with the original copies of their application documents, to the student affairs unit located at the Çarşı Campus, fill out the "Registration Form," and after submitting the documents listed below, complete their procedures at the accounting unit located at the Central Campus.

Engineering Management English (Thesis/Non-Thesis) Master's Program:

Dear prospective students,

Due to a new regulation sent by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) to all higher education institutions, in the Fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, 15 students will be admitted to our thesis master's programs and 30 students to our non-thesis master's program.* A science exam will be held for students to be admitted to the Thesis Master's Programs. Candidates' science exam results will be announced after evaluation. 15% of the students will be given a 100% scholarship.

Admission Requirements

To apply to the master's program, candidates must hold an engineering undergraduate diploma. Equivalency of undergraduate diplomas obtained abroad must be approved by the Higher Education Council.

Candidates applying to the master's program must have obtained a minimum score of 55 on the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES). Candidates who have received a score at least equivalent to the ALES on the "Graduate Record Examination" (GRE), which is recognized as equivalent to the ALES by the Interuniversity Council and accepted internationally, are also evaluated. In admission to master's programs, the ALES score, undergraduate grade point average, and interview results are evaluated.

In the evaluation, for thesis programs, 65% of the relevant ALES score type and 35% of the undergraduate graduation grade point average are used; for non-thesis programs, 50% of the undergraduate graduation grade and 50% of the relevant ALES score, if available, are used. For candidates applying to non-thesis programs without an ALES score, a score of 55 is accepted for ranking.

An English proficiency certificate is required for English master's programs. For programs conducted in English or another foreign language, the foreign language proficiency level and other criteria proposed by the relevant institute's board of directors and approved by the Senate and announced to candidates are required. Prospective students may take the TOEFL IBT, YDS, e-YDS, or the English Proficiency Exam held periodically by Üsküdar University.

Candidates must obtain a minimum of 65 out of 100 points on the YDS, e-YDS, or YÖKDİL, a minimum of 65 points on the ÜÜİYS, or a minimum of 78 points on the TOEFL IBT.

For applications to graduate programs conducted in a foreign language, candidates whose native language is the program's language of instruction, or who have completed undergraduate and/or graduate studies in a country whose native language is the program's language of instruction, are not required to meet the foreign language proficiency requirement.

Based on the score obtained in the foreign language proficiency and/or placement exam, it is determined whether the student is exempt from the foreign language preparatory class and, if not, at what level they will study in the preparatory class.

Students who fail to successfully complete the preparatory class within two years will be dismissed from the program.

Total Number of Credits Required to Obtain a Master's Degree and the Compulsory and Elective Courses to Be Taken

The English master's program consists of at least 8 courses totaling no less than 24 credits, 1 zero-credit seminar course, and a thesis study. The seminar course and thesis study are non-credit and are evaluated as pass/fail. Thesis master's programs consist of at least 8 courses (excluding the seminar course) and a thesis study, totaling at least 120 ECTS credits, with no less than 60 ECTS credits per academic term. Students must register for the thesis term every semester, starting at the latest from the semester following the assignment of an advisor. At most two of the courses a student takes may be selected from undergraduate courses, provided they were not taken during undergraduate study.

Non-thesis master's programs consist of at least 10 courses and a term project, totaling no less than 30 credits and 60 ECTS. Students must register for the term project course in the semester in which it is taken and submit a written project and/or report at the end of the semester. The term project course is non-credit and is evaluated as pass/fail. At most three of the courses a student takes may be selected from undergraduate courses, provided they were not taken during undergraduate study.

Students pursuing a master's degree in Engineering Management are required to take the following four courses in addition to the graduate seminar course. The remaining courses are elective; however, students who wish to may specialize in one of the areas listed below by taking at least two courses in that area.

English Proficiency Exam Result: Candidates must provide one of the following exam results.

Candidates who have graduated from a higher education program conducted entirely in English are exempt from the English proficiency exam result requirement for master's applications.
