Dear Students,

In the 2026-2027 Fall Semester, students who have earned the right to final registration from either the main or reserve list must come, together with the original copies of their application documents, to the student affairs unit located at the Çarşı Campus, fill out the "Registration Form," and after submitting the following documents, complete their transactions at the accounting unit located at the Central Campus.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS REQUIRED OF CANDIDATES

* Students who hold an undergraduate degree outside the field take Scientific Preparation courses.

Dear Students,

If you have completed your coursework and reached the thesis (thesis program) / term project (non-thesis program) stage, you must first enroll in this course (SİB595 or SİB594). As much as possible, we want to enable you to work with the instructor you are interested in, in the field you are interested in. Therefore, please go and meet with the instructors whose courses you have taken and try to reach an agreement. Please keep in mind that for productive work, your instructor also needs to want to work with you, and each instructor has a certain student quota for advising. You can make an appointment with your instructors and communicate in person or by e-mail. Don't forget to bring your current transcript with you before the meeting, or attach it to your message.

In the 2026-2027 Fall semester, no science exam will be held in the Thesis/Non-Thesis programs; instead:

• In our Thesis programs, 65% of the ALES Quantitative score and 35% of the undergraduate graduation grade point average will be taken into account,
• In Non-Thesis programs, 50% of the undergraduate graduation grade and, if available, 50% of the ALES score in the relevant score type will be taken into account.
• If candidates applying to Non-Thesis programs do not have an ALES score, a score of 55 will be accepted and ranking will be made accordingly.

Student Admission Requirements for the Program

a) In order to apply to a master's program, candidates must hold an undergraduate diploma. The equivalence of undergraduate diplomas obtained abroad must be approved by the Council of Higher Education.

b) Graduates of undergraduate programs that admit students in the Quantitative-Weighted score type in the university entrance exam may apply to the program. Candidates who received their undergraduate degree in a field other than Computer Engineering or Software Engineering will attend the Scientific Preparation Program to be determined by the Department of Cyber Security and the Institute Board of Directors.

c) Candidates applying to the master's program must have obtained at least 55 points in the Quantitative section of the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES). Candidates who obtain a score at least equivalent to the ALES exam in the "Graduate Record Examination" (GRE), which is considered equivalent to the ALES exam by the Interuniversity Board and is internationally recognized, are also evaluated. In admission to master's programs, the ALES score, undergraduate grade point average, and interview result are evaluated. d) In the evaluation, 50% of the ALES score, 20% of the undergraduate grade point average, and 30% of the interview result are taken into account, and candidates are ranked from highest to lowest based on the recommendation of the department's academic board and the decision of the institute's board of directors.

e) An English proficiency certificate is required for English-medium master's programs. For programs conducted in English or another foreign language, the foreign language proficiency level and other criteria proposed by the relevant institute board of directors and approved by the Senate, and announced to candidates, are required. Candidate students may take the TOEFL IBT, YDS, e-YDS, or the English Proficiency Exam held by Üsküdar University at certain periods of the year.

f) The candidate must score at least 65 out of 100 on the YDS, e-YDS, or YÖKDİL, at least 65 on the ÜÜİYS, and at least 78 on the TOEFL IBT.

g) For applications to graduate programs conducted in a foreign language, the foreign language proficiency requirement is not sought for candidates whose native language is the language of instruction of the program, or who completed their undergraduate and/or master's education in a country whose native language is the language of instruction of the program.

h) Based on the score obtained from the foreign language proficiency and/or level determination exam, it is determined whether the student is exempt from the foreign language preparatory class and, if not, at which level they will study in the foreign language preparatory class.

i) Students who fail to successfully complete the preparatory class within two years are dismissed from the program.
