Graduates of the program can work as “Medical Secretaries” in public and private healthcare institutions and organizations; they can work in outpatient and clinical information technology services, patient registration and admission, human resources departments, and central medical archive services at public and private inpatient and outpatient healthcare institutions and organizations affiliated with the Ministry of Health.

Students enrolled in the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Studies Program have the opportunity to pursue a dual major in Health Information Systems Technology, Healthcare Administration, Oral and Dental Health, or Social Security. This allows students to graduate
with two associate’s degrees. In addition, students can take the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) to pursue bachelor’s degree programs such as Business Administration, Health Management, and International Business Management, and earn a bachelor’s degree.
Qualities Required of a Medical Documentation and Secretarial Studies Graduate:
- Must have a strong command of medical terminology.
- Must be able to accurately handle patient registration, admission, and appointment procedures.
- Must be knowledgeable about healthcare regulations, patient rights, and the operations of healthcare institutions.
- Must be able to organize medical documents, reports, and files.
- Must be able to use electronic health record systems and hospital information management systems (HIMS).
- Must be able to communicate effectively and accurately with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Must be friendly, understanding, and patient.
- Must be able to show empathy and adapt their behavior to the needs of different individuals.
