- The Child Development Program is an associate degree program established to meet the need for education and counseling services that support children in growing and developing within healthy environments.
- The program aims to educate qualified support personnel who can contribute to the developmental needs of typically developing children and children with special needs between the ages of 0 and 18, and provide professional services to children, families, and the institutions and organizations serving them.
Program Goals
The program aims to educate professionals who possess a solid foundation in education and childcare services and are capable of applying fundamental knowledge and skills to interpret and evaluate information, identify problems, and develop appropriate solutions.
Graduates will be able to identify and effectively utilize the methods, techniques, services, and technologies required for professional practice, generate solutions to unforeseen challenges encountered in the workplace, work independently or collaboratively as responsible members of a team, and communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues, and other stakeholders. They are also expected to demonstrate patience, tolerance, and professionalism, while possessing sufficient foreign language proficiency to follow current developments in the field.
Furthermore, the program seeks to prepare individuals who uphold universal and cultural values, adhere to professional ethics, embrace lifelong learning, monitor scientific, technological, and sectoral developments, continuously improve their professional competencies, and demonstrate awareness and responsibility regarding occupational safety, health, environmental protection, and sustainable professional practice.
